Peer Review Process

International Journal of Social Sciences, Language and Linguistics (IJSSLL)

The International Journal of Social Sciences, Language and Linguistics (IJSSLL) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic rigor, transparency, and scholarly integrity. To ensure the publication of high-quality and credible research, IJSSLL follows a rigorous double-blinded peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the evaluation process.

Overview of the Double-Blinded Peer Review

The double-blinded peer review system is designed to ensure impartiality, fairness, and objectivity. Neither the authors nor the reviewers are aware of each other’s identities, thereby minimizing potential bias and conflicts of interest.

Manuscript Submission

  • Authors submit manuscripts electronically through the journal’s official submission system.
  • During submission, authors must confirm that:
    • The manuscript is original work;
    • It has not been published previously;
    • It is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Initial Editorial Assessment

  • Upon receipt, the Editorial Office conducts a preliminary evaluation to verify compliance with:
    • The journal’s aims and scope;
    • Formatting and submission guidelines;
    • Ethical publishing standards.
  • Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to authors or rejected at this stage.
  • Manuscripts passing the initial screening are forwarded to the Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor for further assessment.

Assignment of Reviewers

  • The handling editor assigns the manuscript to at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant subject-matter expertise.
  • Reviewers are selected based on:
    • Academic qualifications and research experience;
    • Publication record in the relevant field;
    • Absence of any actual or potential conflicts of interest.

Double-Blinded Review Process

  • The peer review process is strictly double-blinded:
    • Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors;
    • Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.
  • Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:
    • Originality, novelty, and scholarly contribution;
    • Relevance to the scope of social sciences, language, and linguistics;
    • Methodological rigor and validity;
    • Clarity, coherence, and organization of the manuscript;
    • Ethical integrity and proper citation of sources.
  • Reviewers provide:
    • Constructive comments and suggestions for improvement;
    • A clear recommendation: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.

Editorial Decision

  • The Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor reviews the referees’ reports and makes an informed editorial decision.
  • Authors receive:
    • An official decision letter;
    • Anonymous reviewer comments and editorial guidance.

Revision and Resubmission

  • If revisions are requested:
    • Authors are given a specified timeframe to revise the manuscript;
    • A detailed response to reviewers’ comments is required.
  • Revised manuscripts may be:
    • Re-evaluated by the original reviewers, or
    • Assessed directly by the handling editor, depending on the extent of revisions.

Final Decision

  • The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection is made by the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor after careful evaluation of the revised manuscript.
  • Once accepted, the manuscript proceeds to copyediting, production, and publication.
  • Authors are formally notified of acceptance and publication scheduling.

Ethical Commitment

IJSSLL adheres to international standards of publication ethics and expects all participants in the peer review process—authors, reviewers, and editors—to uphold principles of confidentiality, objectivity, and academic integrity.
