Author Guidelines

Manuscript Submission

Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts via the IJS Online Submission System available on the journal’s official website. Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format. Each submission must include a cover letter detailing the significance, originality, and relevance of the research.

Article Types

The journal accepts the following types of submissions:

  • Original Research Articles: Comprehensive studies presenting novel statistical methods, theoretical advancements, or applied research (3,000–7,000 words).
  • Review Articles: Critical and systematic reviews of specific statistical topics or methodologies (4,000–6,000 words).
  • Case Studies / Applications: Detailed reports on unique applications of statistical methods in real-world scenarios (2,000–4,000 words).
  • Short Communications: Brief reports of preliminary research findings or concise methodological contributions (1,000–2,000 words).
  • Letters to the Editor: Constructive commentary or critique of previously published work (500–1,500 words).

Manuscript Preparation

General Formatting

  • Language: English (U.S. spelling)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Line Spacing:5
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
  • File Type: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)
  • Figures & Tables: Embedded within the manuscript, numbered sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1), with high resolution (≥300 dpi)
  • Abbreviations: Define at first mention

Manuscript Structure

  1. Title Page: Include a concise title (max 20 words), all authors’ full names, institutional affiliations, corresponding author’s contact details, and funding acknowledgments.
  2. Abstract: Structured abstract (200–300 words) with Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
  3. Keywords: 4–6 relevant keywords for indexing.
  4. Introduction: State background, objectives, and study significance.
  5. Materials and Methods: Provide sufficient detail to allow replication.
  6. Results: Present findings clearly, supported by tables and figures.
  7. Discussion: Interpret results, highlight implications, limitations, and relevance to existing literature.
  8. Conclusion: Summarize key findings and contributions to statistical science.
  9. Acknowledgments: Recognize non-author contributors and funding sources.
  10. References: Use APA 7th Edition style; ensure all references are cited in text.

Ethical Considerations

IJS adheres to the highest ethical publishing standards. Authors must comply with the following:

  • Informed Consent: Required for research involving human subjects.
  • Ethical Approval: Studies with human or animal participants must have institutional ethics committee approval.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must declare any potential conflicts.

Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools. Manuscripts containing plagiarized content will be rejected without review.

Review Process

  • Initial Screening: Editorial team evaluates relevance and quality.
  • Peer Review: At least two subject experts conduct a double-blind review.
  • Timeline: Authors typically receive feedback within 4–6 weeks.
  • Decision: Final decisions (accept, revise, reject) are made by the Editor-in-Chief.

Copyright and Licensing

Upon acceptance, authors are required to sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement. All articles are published under an Open Access model with a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing distribution and reuse with proper citation.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

An APC of USD 75 applies upon acceptance to cover publication costs. There are no submission fees. Authors from low-income countries may apply for waivers.

Manuscript Withdrawal

Withdrawal after acceptance and production is permitted only under exceptional circumstances and requires approval from the Editor-in-Chief.
