Author Guidelines
International Journal of Material Sciences and Manufacturing Engineering (IJMSME)
Manuscript Submission
Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts through the IJMSME Online Submission System available on the journal’s official website. Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Each submission should include a cover letter explaining the originality, significance, and contribution of the research to the fields of material sciences and manufacturing engineering.

Article Types
We accept the following categories of manuscripts:
Original Research Articles
Comprehensive studies presenting novel findings, experimental investigations, material innovations, manufacturing technologies, engineering solutions, or analytical research.
Word Limit: 3,000–8,000 words
Review Articles
Critical and comprehensive reviews summarizing recent developments in material sciences, manufacturing engineering, and related interdisciplinary areas.
Word Limit: 4,000–7,000 words
Case Studies / Industrial Applications
Practical applications of materials and manufacturing technologies in industrial, engineering, healthcare, energy, aerospace, and related sectors.
Word Limit: 2,000–4,000 words
Short Communications
Brief reports of innovative discoveries, technological developments, or preliminary research findings.
Word Limit: 1,000–2,500 words
Letters to the Editor
Comments, critiques, or scholarly discussions related to previously published articles.
Word Limit: 500–1,500 words
Manuscript Preparation
General Formatting
- Language: English (U.S. spelling)
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Line Spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
- File Type: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
- Figures & Tables: Embedded within the manuscript, numbered sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1), minimum 300 dpi resolution
- Units: Use SI units throughout the manuscript
- Abbreviations: Define at first mention
- Equations and Symbols: Must be editable and clearly formatted where applicable
Manuscript Structure
Title Page
Include:
- Full manuscript title (maximum 20 words)
- Authors' full names
- Institutional affiliations
- Corresponding author’s email and contact details
- ORCID IDs (optional)
- Funding acknowledgments
Abstract
A structured abstract of 200–300 words including:
- Background
- Objectives
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
Keywords
Provide 4–6 keywords relevant to the study.
Introduction
Clearly describe the research background, problem statement, objectives, significance, and current challenges addressed by the study.
Materials and Methods
Provide sufficient details regarding:
- Experimental procedures
- Materials and equipment used
- Manufacturing processes
- Characterization techniques
- Computational or simulation methods
- Statistical analyses
to ensure reproducibility.
Results
Present findings clearly using tables, figures, images, graphs, and analytical data where appropriate.
Discussion
Interpret results, compare findings with existing literature, discuss limitations, and explain practical and industrial implications.
Conclusion
Summarize key findings, innovations, and contributions of the study.
Acknowledgments
Recognize contributors, institutions, funding agencies, and supporting organizations.
References
References must follow APA 7th Edition style. Ensure all references cited in the text are included in the reference list.
Ethical Considerations
IJMSME follows strict publication ethics standards.
Authors must ensure:
- Submitted work is original and unpublished.
- Proper citation of all sources.
- Disclosure of any conflicts of interest.
- Compliance with applicable ethical and safety standards.
- Permission for copyrighted materials when applicable.
Plagiarism Policy
All submissions undergo plagiarism screening using professional plagiarism-detection software. Manuscripts containing plagiarized, duplicated, or improperly cited material will be rejected immediately.
Review Process
IJMSME follows a double-blind peer-review process:
- Initial editorial screening for scope, quality, and formatting.
- Review by at least two independent experts.
- Authors receive reviewer comments typically within 4–6 weeks.
- Final decisions (acceptance, revision, or rejection) are made by the Editor-in-Chief.
Copyright and Licensing
Upon acceptance, authors may be required to sign a publication agreement.
Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), permitting sharing, distribution, and reuse with proper citation.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
- APC: USD 100 (payable after acceptance)
- Submission Fee: None
- Authors from low-income countries may request APC waivers or discounts subject to editorial approval.
Manuscript Withdrawal
Withdrawal requests after acceptance will only be considered under exceptional circumstances and require approval from the Editor-in-Chief.
